Skiathos in the Northern Sporades group of Greek islands. Despite its small size (it is under 50 km²), Skiathos is a popular holiday destination. It has over 60 sand and shingle beaches scattered along the coastline. It is wise to arrange car rental in order to have your pick of the many beaches.

If you have time it is worth participating in a diving class as waters surrounding Skiathos are generally very clear and warm, usually resulting in lots of interesting wreckages being stumbled upon.
A good way to relax and enjoy the surroundings in Skiathos is to take a trip to the horse riding centre which caters for beginners and experienced riders. The riding centre is easy to get to if you have a suitable hire car.
