Car hire in Liverpool is a great idea.  The city is not as complicated to navigate as some large cities can be, and has fairly decent parking facilities, although some of them can be expensive.  The wealth of attractions that exist there are also well provided for in terms of parking - there is plentiful parking provision at the Albert Dock, for example - but their popularity is such that parking areas can get very busy nevertheless.

Liverpool car hire is also of great use in exploring the outlying areas and other nearby cities.  Use your car hire to visit Chester, a nearby Roman City with ruins and city walls, or the beaches of West Kirby, on the Wirral - park up and take a walk across the sands to Hilbre Island, home to grey seals and a ruined lifeboat station.  A short drive north of Liverpool itself is Southport and here you'll find a pier, marina and botanical gardens. You could even enjoy a round of golf at Hoylake or Birkdale, both of which have been host to the British Open Championship. Port Sunlight, a model village with a varied collection of objects and paintings in its Lady Lever Art Gallery, is another potential trip to make using car rental.  Manchester and its Trafford centre, an American style mall, are also within reach by car, and you may want to venture further afield to the Lake District or into North Wales.
