Compare the best Miami car hire

Car hire in Miami is affordable and the roads here are well maintained and straightforward to navigate. As such, if you're looking for the easiest way to explore Florida's largest city and all of its sights, from Kennedy Space Centre to Little Havana, hiring a car is certainly a good idea.

Why go?

Miami is set on the Atlantic coast of Florida and is home to a stunning skyline, fantastic beaches and great shopping.

Most holidaymakers pick up their rental car from Miami Airport (MIA) and from there make their way to their hotel. Coconut Grove and Key Biscayne are two of the most popular places to stay in the city. Having a car at your convenience makes it easier to see the less central attractions of Miami, such as Fisher Island, Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach and these are places you don't want to miss out on. Art and history enthusiasts will love South Beach, where they can admire the Art Deco buildings which line the seaside streets. Nature lovers should head to the Everglades, which can easily be reached by car and afterwards visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens.

For a romantic evening stroll, there's no better spot in the city than the Port of Miami, where you can watch the sun set over the ocean. If it's a family holiday, then this city will ensure both parents and children are entertained; Miami Zoo is great for a fun day out, as is the Seaquarium, where adults and children alike will be in awe at the diverse and occasionally enormous sea creatures which swim in the waters here.

In Miami car hire is essential if you want to make the most of the shopping opportunities of the city. The first stop has to be Lincoln Road mall, where you'll find designer labels and bargain fashion items and everything in between. Other must-see attractions of the area include the famous Florida Keys, the world-renowned seafood restaurant Jimbos and the fascinating Wolfsonian Museum. With so many incredible sights to see and things to do, you'll never be short on entertainment when you visit Miami.

Where to go?

If you can tear yourself away from the city of Miami, there is the rest of Florida to explore in your hire car.

Orlando is reached in only a few hours and is, of course, home to theme parks and non-stop fun. From Disney to Universal, Sea World to Wet 'n Wild, you are never short of entertainment, day or night. Add in shopping malls, restaurants, bars and nightclubs and you'll never be bored.

South of Miami you can drive to the end of the USA by visiting the Keys. This string of islands extends for miles beyond the end of the mainland, and at the very end you'll find Key West, a bohemian party town.

There are many beach resorts to visit in Florida. North of Miami you'll find places like Fort Lauderdale and Daytona. And over on the West Coast, the Caribbean Sea is warmer and the beaches are ideal for relaxing holidays in resorts such as St Petersburg, Naples and Clearwater.
