France is located in the heart of Europe and France flights from the UK are easy to find and can be relatively cheap. This country has a wide variety of things to see and do depending on the sort of holiday you are looking for.

You can take a city break to Paris (CDG), visit the coast and beaches of the Cote D'Azur in the south at Nice (NCE) or venture further inland to the vineyards of Bordeaux (BOD) or the historic city of Lyon (LYS).

Due to its convenient location, France can also become the gateway for you to reach other places within Europe.

If you are looking for adventure and enjoy skiing then either fly to Chambery (CMF) in France or take a flight to Geneva (GVA) for the French alps. The Mediterranean island of Corsica can be reached by either flying to Marseille (MRS) and catching a ferry to Corsica or by taking a flight to Bastia (BIA) or Figari (FSC).

Flights to France leave regularly from UK airports such as London Gatwick (LGW), London Heathrow (LHR) and London Luton (LTN) but it is also possible to fly to some French destinations from UK regional airports such as Manchester (MAN) and East Midlands (EMA).

Getting from the airport to your destination should not be difficult as most French cities have a good public transport network so you can easily reach the centre but France also has an excellent rail network allowing you to fly to one destination and then complete your journey by train. The French road network is also excellent so hiring a car and collecting it from the airport when you land is another option to consider if you want to venture further than your flight destination.

France has so much to see and do that it will be difficult to choose your options. If you are planning a long holiday then try Brittany in the north or cosmopolitan resorts such as Nice and Marseille on the Cote D'Azur in the south. The short flight time from the UK (at most an hour and a half) means that France is also the ideal place for a short break and Paris with its architecture, culture and food is the perfect destination for a city break.

So if you are looking for a destination where there is plenty of choice in terms of the number and variety of locations then a trip to France is ideal. Find cheap flights to France by using TravelSupermarket's price-comparison tool.
