Eastern Caribbean

The islands of the eastern Caribbean Sea are the most frequently included on cruise itineraries. Most of the famous holiday islands such as Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua and Grenada are situated in a long band down the eastern part of the Caribbean and cruises will hop between them. Although close together each island is very different to the next and apart from its stunning beaches, the region is most renowned for its colonial buildings and many plantations which are open to the public.

Western Caribbean & Mexican Riviera

A cruise taking in the Western Caribbean offers an abundance of wonderful sightseeing opportunities. It incorporates the Mexican Riviera and through the ports of Costa Maya, Cancun and Cozumel you can visit a number of impressive ancient Mayan sites along the Yucatan Peninsula such as Tulum and Chichen Itza. For adventure seekers Jamaica offers white water rafting whilst Grand Cayman is renowned for its amazing diving and snorkelling including the world famous Stingray City. Belize is another regularly visited port of call and recently Cuba has even begun to welcome cruise ships.

Southern Caribbean & Panama Canal

Many itineraries that incorporate the Southern Caribbean include either a full or part transit of the Panama Canal, one of the world's great engineering feats plus the small islands of Margarita Island, Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao which are great for their diving and shopping. In total contrast the port of Cartagena on the mainland offers something altogether different with its Spanish colonial architecture.

New England & Canada

The cruise season in the north eastern part of North America is rather short and only runs from June to September. It is in late September, however, that the area is particularly popular amongst British travellers who want to see New England in all its glory, when the trees put on a kaleidascope of vibrant autumn colours for which this part of North America is particularly famous. Between each port of call the coastline is simply beautiful whilst along the route each port of call has its own distinct appeal. Cruise ports include Boston, Martha's Vineyard and the very French Canadian cities of Montreal and Quebec City. Many cruises sail from New York and most passengers choose to spend a view days there before or after their cruise.

Hawaii and Western USA

Hawaii is a less popular cruise destination with the British due to the distance to the islands from the UK. Those who do choose to take a cruise to the region often decide to combine it with a few days in Los Angeles, San Francisco or Las Vegas either before or after your cruise.
