Follow these tips to ensure you're fully prepared...
When booking your airport parking, you need to ensure that you choose something that meets all your needs. Whether it's the first time you've booked it or something you've done a hundred times, our top tips will ensure you're fully prepared for any eventuality...

1. Book in advance
Not only will you save money (up to 60% cheaper than paying at the gate), but you'll save time, have a guaranteed parking space (during peak times the car parks are full) and you can compare different companies to ensure you get the best price.

2. Choose the right product
There are many products to choose from so ensure you choose one that suits you - on airport, off airport, long-stay, short-stay, or a personal meet and greet service.

3. Shop around
Travel agents and airlines often sell airport parking as an added extra - and at a premium rate. Shop around independently for this and you'll save money.

4. Cancellation policies
Choose a parking option that offers a flexible and free cancellation policy that allows you to amend and cancel bookings up to 24hrs before your departure date.

5. Allow plenty of time
Allow extra time on top of your airport check-in time to drop your car off, especially if the car park is offsite and you need to catch a shuttle bus - you don't want to miss your flight!

6. Arriving home
Make sure you know where to go on your arrival at the airport to collect your car. If there's a shuttle bus, make note of where it will pick you up as it may be a different place to where it dropped you off.

7. Security
Always check the airport parking company has appropriate security measures in place and you car will be safe whilst you're away. Look for the 'Park Mark' - the Safer Parking Scheme initiative of the Association of Chief Police Officers.

8. Airport hotels
Consider staying at an airport hotel the night before you fly - especially if you have a very early flight. Often, park and fly packages cost no more than parking only.
