Cottage holidays in Norfolk

Norfolk is a beautiful and popular area of the country with a diverse range of scenery and activities to suit everyone - and renting a holiday cottage is a wonderful way to explore everything this county has to offer.  The most popular areas here are the city of Norwich, the seaside town of Great Yarmouth and of course, the Norfolk Broads.

The historical city of Norwich has everything you would need for a city break in the UK. Set in the heart of East Anglia it is the most complete medieval city in Britain. After you have explored the Norman Cathedral and Castle, hit the shops and then sample the city's many restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

Not far outside of Norwich are the stunning Norfolk Broads - miles and miles of gentle waterways - the UK's largest nationally protected wetland.  Either hire a boat to explore these or cycle along the riverside paths passing windmills, visiting nature reserves and exploring the pretty villages.

In high summer, Great Yarmouth is a huge attraction with tourists. Not only is it a traditional seaside town with its Golden Mile, attractions for all ages and busy nightlife, but  its uniqueness stems from the rural villages and the famous national park of the Norfolk Broads that surround it.

Cottage holidays in Suffolk

Suffolk has something for everyone with its diverse choice of towns, miles of unspoilt coastline, charming villages and contrasting scenery.  Best explored on foot or by bike, the landscape that inspired John Constable's paintings is just one of the many reasons why you should rent a holiday cottage for a short holiday or weekend break in this county.  The coastal towns and resorts of Southwold and Aldeburgh along Suffolk's 45mile stretch of coast offer year-round tourist attractions. Southwold itself sits in the centre of the Suffolk Heritage Coast, which consists of sand bordering on salt marshes - the town itself is virtually an island and as such, it has retained it's old world charm. Further south, Aldeburgh is a bustling seaside town where fishing is still big business - time your visit just right to buy freshly caught produce from the local fishermen who sell their catch from the boats they've just hauled onto the shore.

With the ice-cream coloured painted houses, picturesque scenery, great restaurants and stunning coastline, Suffolk is a perfect place to enjoy a cottage holiday.

Cottage holidays in Cambridgeshire

Cambridge is one of the country's most popular tourist cities with the university being its most famous attraction.  The city boasts superb museums and art galleries and no-one should leave there without trying their hand at punting on the River Cam - it's not as easy as it looks! The centre of Cambridge is a pedestrian-only zone, making it quiet, clean and free from the usual congestion and as the city centre is compact it's easy to see everything on foot, including the bustling weekday markets.

Most holiday cottages in this county are situated in smaller villages and towns, and wherever you are based you are never far away from the fenland.  Explore this unique land at the Wicken Fen Nature Reserve - the oldest nature reserve in England.
