East Anglia is made up of Norfolk and Suffolk and stretches from Ipswich in the South to King's Lynn in the North with a diverse range of scenery, beaches and habitat. From the Norfolk Broads to the rolling hillsides of Constable country in the south, this is an area rich in history and very different to many other parts of the country.

The region is a great location for family holidays with the caravan and holiday parks being located along the coast, many within the actual resort towns of the two counties.

Norfolk is made up of many market towns, the major centre being Norwich with its famous market square.  It is also famous for its many beaches that string along the coast from sandy to pebble, facing onto the North Sea. The larger resorts are Cromer, Hunstanton, Caister, Sheringham and Lowestoft.  In the north, the area around The Wash is renowned for its birdlife and the whole country has a relaxed air to it.

You can visit the Royal Palace at Sandringham, cruise on the Norfolk Broads waterways or go racing in Newmarket, such is the range of activities.

Suffolk is one of the UK's quieter counties with peaceful countryside of rolling hills and great for cycling and leisurely exploring.  In fact, it is hard to imagine that the metropolis of London is only a couple of hours away such is the tranquillity you can find.  Ipswich is the only city in the county and has great shopping and waterside leisure activities.  The beaches run from Lowestoft through to Aldeburgh, famous for its Benjamin Britten connections and Felixstowe.

Lowestoft

The area of Lowestoft, Southwold and the Southern Norfolk Broads is known as the Sunshine Coast and is famous for its excellent weather record and wide sandy beaches.  It is actually in the county of Suffolk although the waterways of the broads reach the area.

The area really is tranquil and peaceful and well suited for a family holiday based on outdoor activities such as cycling, sand castle making and rambling.  Lowestoft itself is the most easterly town in England and has a small centre with a bustling quayside, pedestrianised shopping centre and two blue flag beaches either side of the pier.  There is a great number of traditional seaside gardens as well as attractions such as the Royal Plain Fountains.

The resort areas have all the usual attractions and food options that you would find in a seaside location, however these are less brash than many other UK resorts adding to the peacefulness of the area.  It is within these that you will find the main places for caravan and holiday parks.

Great Yarmouth

The town of Great Yarmouth is one of the UK's most popular seaside resorts and has a wealth of excellent beaches and heritage sites as well as beautiful countryside and theme parks.

The beaches run for 15 miles from Winterton to Hopton and offer a great playground for the family and every beachside activity you can imagine!  The main resorts themselves have all the usual fare with a theme park, lots of attractions and fun fair style things to do as well traditional fish and chips and candy floss!  The town has excellent shopping from high street to specialist and is well know for its floral displays as well as its proximity to the Norfolk Broads for river based trips.  Away from the beaches and Broads are lots of great areas for walking on the moorlands and secluded rivers, marshes and heathlands.

Nightlife is well catered for in the local theatres, bars and clubs and you will find something suitable to entertain all ages. Great Yarmouth itself has a number of caravan and holiday parks within easy reach.
