Italy is home to the birth of European culture as we know it today and where so much art and history can be found, along with stunning scenery and some great beaches.
Holiday and caravan park holidays in Italy tend to be located in the Lake areas up towards the Alps and on the Adriatic coastline near Venice. Add to that the famous Italian food and you have a winning combination.
The journey time can be long at over 24 hours each way and the areas can be reached either via France, Belgium or Holland with a short channel crossing and then a drive south. It is well worth breaking the journey overnight on at least one of the legs of your trip.

Lake Garda
A huge lake in North of Italy with mountain scenery bordering this very green and fertile area. The Lake itself has loads of activities and boat trips around and on the lake itself. The region is well known for its walking and mountain biking holidays. You can even swim in the fresh water lake as it is very clean. The lake has many small forests and wooded areas around as well as some of the Italian vineyards close by. Venice is within easy reach for a day trip as well as Verona, both with lots to see and do to entertain the family. There are lots of villages and towns around the lake, all with their own character and at the southern end of the lake is the Gardaland Theme Park.
The holiday and caravan parks are located either on the lakeside or just inland and are all well located to explore this stunning area.
Adriatic
Either side of the lagoon near Venice are long sandy beaches on the Adriatic sea with caravan and holiday parks close by. The area is fairly flat and great for bathing and cycling round, however it lacks the stunning scenery of the Italian lakes. What it does have though is one of the most impressive day trips you can make from any caravan or holiday park site - Venice. An amazing city built on the lagoon with stunning architecture, canals and an amazing setting. An absolute must for a visit during your holiday.
