Pretoria is situated close to the likes of Johannesburg and Rustenburg, making it an ideal stopover destination during your travels. The city is a vibrant mixture of cultures - both old and new - and has a range of attractions you can enjoy during your stay.

The city is home to South Africa's largest zoo, the National Zoological Gardens of South Africa - which lies on the banks of the Apies River - entry will cost around 45R and the zoo also offers a range of tours, including night walks and camping trips within the grounds.

The Transvaal Museum is also worth a look, the museum of natural history has a vast collection of fossils found in the surrounding Pilanesberg Game Reserve - where you can find an abundance of caves and take a hike or safari tour around the many game reserves around the region.

During your trip to the city be sure to have a stroll around the Freedom Park heritage site, which contains a variety of historical symbols - such as the Wall of Names and the Gallery of Leaders exhibition - and provides a great opportunity to relax in between games.

Alternatively you can take to the skies during your trip, why not try a tandem skydive at the Pretoria Skydiving Club and take in the view of the city from the air?
