The Canary Islands are seven islands in the Atlantic Ocean, closer to Africa than Spain.
The islands are popular summer sun and winter sun destinations due to their year-round warm climate, making them ideal for villa holidays at any time of year. The most popular of the Canary Islands are Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria.

Tenerife villa holidays
The largest and most popular of the Canary Islands, Tenerife has tourist resorts offering something for all ages and types of holidaymaker - from the lively typical package holiday resort of Playa de las Americas packed with bars and clubs to the laid back pretty town of Puerto de la Cruz. The volcanic crater of Mount Teide lies to the centre of the island - a cable car ride to the top of this is a must!
With plenty of beaches to choose from including those made of black volcanic sand and the manmade golden beaches made with sand imported from the Sahara, Tenerife is a great place to take a villa holiday!
Lanzarote villa holidays
As with the other Canary Islands, Lanzarote is a volcanic island. However, it varies from the other islands with its crater-type landscape caused by the volcanic eruptions in the 18th and 19th century.
Families and couples will be attracted to villas located within the quieter resorts with their safe beaches and peaceful surroundings, as well as the warm blue waters that are gently cooled by the Atlantic breeze. For those who prefer something more active there are many beaches that cater for water sports and there is a lively nightlife with bars and nightclubs in all major resorts.
Gran Canaria villa holidays
Gran Canaria has something to offer all ages and types of holidaymaker, making it ideal for a villa holiday. With its soft sandy beaches, blue seas and a variety of activities, the island is always a hot favourite with families, however, if you're looking for a romantic hideaway, the pretty marinas and the flower-filled paths will provide just that. For those who want something a little livelier, Gran Canaria's main resorts such as Playa del Ingles offer just that with lots of bars, restaurants and clubs to choose from!
Fuerteventura villa holidays
If you're looking for peace and quiet this Canary Island is the one for you. With never ending sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and a huge choice of water sports, it's a great place to take a family villa holiday. For clear calm waters, the best place to head to is Costa Caleta but if you're looking for something a little more fun choose a villa near to the water parks at Corralejo!
