Budapest hotels

Hotels in Budapest are found at all levels of comfort and to suit all tastes and pockets, although the hotels here tend to be more expensive than the rest of Hungary, and luxury hotels are more prevalent. Budapest hotels are plentiful in all three districts of the city; the two original cities of which it is comprised - Buda and Pest - plus the historic district of Castle Hill.

Hotels in Buda, the western side of the River Danube, are hotels of all types and have a picturesque setting. The shopping and business districts are close at hand and some hotels offer lovely views of the river. Nearby Castle Hill, which bans cars from its zone, offers a more tranquil setting amongst historic buildings, but accommodation here is amongst the most expensive in the city. Pest is the flat eastern side of the Danube and hosts the Budapest Zoo and Botanical Garden. Hotels here tend towards the budget standard, but there are some high end hotels here too. Within Pest, City Park is probably the nicest district.
