The major cities of Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban are all well served, along with the famous areas of the Garden Route on the South coast, the Drakensburg mountains and the shores of the Eastern coast as well as in the casino resort of Sun City. Peak season is through the summer, from October through to Easter with excellent weather to be found at this time, although for many it is best to visit the game reserves during the winter months of June to August where temperatures are cooler and there is little rain.
