Image of a beach in Benidorm in the height of summer

Benidorm is a happy town. Happy holidaymakers, because they know exactly what to expect when they book a week or two in Benidorm - great value, pristine beaches, and loads to do, night and day. If the holidaymakers are happy, and flocking to their bars, restaurants and clubs, then the locals are happy too. Sure, it's not the prettiest resort you've ever seen, but all those skyscrapers certainly make for plenty of hotel rooms with sea views. Demand for hotels in Beniorm during the summer months is high so be sure to book early.

Benidorm packs maximum entertainment into minimum space...

Benidorm packs maximum entertainment into minimum space. So a short stroll might take you past a stylish fusion restaurant, an all day breakfast stop, a bargain bazaar, a comedy club and an old fashioned tea dance. Arriving on the long promenade which lines Levante Beach, you might pause to watch a paraglider cruising overhead, or teenagers shooting the rafts and waterslides just offshore. For this is a beach where there's plenty to do. Clean, shallow water for toddlers to splash in and jet skis further out for adrenaline seekers. Over 5,000 sun beds for those who like to take it easy, and diving boards to watch from your sun bed. If all this sounds just a little too busy for your tastes, then Poniente Beach, Benidorm's other curve of golden sand, is a little quieter in the summer months.

Even the most dedicated beach baby needs a sand free day or two, and there are lots of other choices here. Theme park roller coasters might hurl you through ancient Egypt, or you could visit Terra Natura where you can screech down a zip wire above a herd of elephants. Water parks offer an array of chutes, slides and black holes for the brave and the not-so-brave, and nearby lie the Algar Falls where you can swim in natural pools.

Benidorm isn't only for summer holidays though. In the winter there's a different type of buzz, with plush, feathered dance shows at the Benidorm Palace, and any number of cosy tapas bars where you can appreciate the Spain beyond the skyscrapers. This is truly a resort for all seasons, and with a mild and balmy climate all year round, it's easy to see why so many people just keep on coming back.
