The countdown continues to the games in London, the proud host city of the 2012 Olympics which will take place from the 27th July through to the 12th August. And let's not forget the inspiring Paralympics which will follow on from the 29th August through to the 9th September 2012.
With thirty four different events; ranging from flagship sports such as athletics, swimming and gymnastics, through track cycling, rowing and equestrianism to lesser known sports such as taekwondo and the triathlon. There are team events and individual pursuits and we can expect to see the finest sportsmen in the world competing from over 200 countries for the coveted gold, silver and bronze Olympic medals.
As the UK and our capital city prepares for this momentous sporting festival, the excitement is really beginning to build with the registration for tickets already open and the on sale ballot starting in March. We will be able enjoy the games themselves at venues across the UK and if you want to be sure of tickets its time to start your preparation now for getting those must see events.
To get the full games experience, you can either get involved, even volunteering to help in one of the myriad of roles or by turning out to support your favourite sportsmen and women with tickets to the events.
