Re: Taking spending money to Australia

Hi Leehen, I had been to Australia a few months back, I found taking credit cards as the best option with the fact of letting the credit supplier know about the tour. I had been to places around Sydney and found the Hunter Valley Tours to be the most wonderful ones.

Just returned from a trip from Perth ,Brisbane , Port Douglas Sydney and Singapore , took some cash and a few T/C, next time wont bother with the T/C , Credit card was the best, but don't forget to let your Credit card supplier know when you are going and to where. Have a look around at all the credit cards as some charge.

    Have a good one ,

We went recently for three weeks, we took $100 each then we used nationwide credit cards and debit cards as they don't have any conversion charges, the debit card worked with our pin numbers in banks everyware we went for cash, even in smallish towns. We took $100 each in cash from the PO, as then they have a zero charge return policy. We mostly used the credit cards and carried the minimum of cash.

    Taking spending money to Australia

Hi - i'm sure this is a post that gets sent regularly however i can't seem to find the answers on the search facility. What's the best way for us to pay our way in Australia. We're there for a month and both hold the usual credit/debit cards, also happy to use travellers cheques if required. Is there one way that works out cheaper than another?

    thanks
