    Ascos Coral Beach

Stay away - this hotel is filthy, in dire need of renovation and serves the worst breakfastWe booked a holiday at this hotel on the advice of Thomas Cook as a 21st birthday present for my son and his girlfriend. Whilst we enjoyed Cyprus the hotel and the service from Thomas Cook was nothing short of dreadful. Where do I start? The room - mosquito infested, stinky with torn curtains and bedspreads, mould throughout the bathroom, wallpaper peeling, airconditioning that didn't work and dirty The hotel - passageways that were just plain filthy, lifts that didn't work, amenities that were broken and the reception staff - don't you dare say you are unhappy because you will get told off. The food - breakfast that consisted of watered down juice, stale pastries, scrambled egg that had to be sliced, cereal that resembled cardboard ... despite having paid half board we ate out thereafter. Thomas Cook - told them we wanted to be moved asap - three weeks later they have still to come near us. To be fair don't think the airhead who is the rep had ever got passed the reception or stayed in a hotel of any quality, and just could not understand what the problem was. Whilst this hotel may have been good - top hotel in 1998 (sign is still there) - give it a wide berth. Anyone who tells you different clearly has never stayed in a decent hotel and has no concept of quality, service or good food.

What a horrible experience for you. I have duly taken note and will stay away.

Glad you have taken note - you won't regret the decision

By the way my complaint to the owners Tsokkos resulted in complete surprise and astonishment - according to their stats which they went to great length to list 70% of the people found the hotel acceptable. They therefore could not see what the issue was but they would if I came to stay again upgrade us from half board to all inclusive. Sadly no we will look into it, we will make a better effort, we accept what you say - just spend some more money with us and we will throw you a titbit.

In the business I am in we get rid of staff who achieve that level of performance - if that's the standard they set its no surprise that the hotel is in the condition it is
