    Re: AVOID E-BOOKERS

I agree with Sarah, don't book anything through e-bookers! I've just returned from holiday having hired a car beforehand through e-bookers at a good price, only to read my bank statement on return where an additional £100 was taken for petrol for a small ford fiesta.

e-bookers said it was the car hire company in Spain that did this and it was not e-bookers fault as they are just agents. I emailed e-bookers to say I disagree because my contract was with them but they are currently insisting this is not so and are saying they are not prepared to refund any money.

The whole overseas car hire thing is a con! Buyer Beware! Josie

    Re: AVOID E-BOOKERS

I had exactly the same experience as sarah. The problem I have is that although ebooker state that low-cost airlines charge extra for baggage they don't tell you they don't handle it for you and that to complete what for some is an essential part of a flight booking they have to chase it up elsewhere. For a decent checkout it must be obvious! I only realised by accident looking at the EasyJet confirmation email which plainly states you have not booked luggage!

At the very least in the final confirmation page/email how hard would it be to state "baggage not included" somewhere?

    Re: AVOID E-BOOKERS

This may be so, but I think the language used on e-bookers needs to be changed to reflect these conditions so customers are more aware of hidden costs.

I.e. Rather than saying "Total cost of trip = £**"

It should say "Total cost of trip = £** + charges (see terms and conditions)"

    Re: AVOID E-BOOKERS

Hi, was it an extra credit ard fee or part of the booking fee mentioned in the T`s & C`s it also mentions that low cost airlines may charge extra for baggage.

    b) Low cost flights

To book a flight from a low cost airline you can select on the web page of ebookers a flight shown by the logo or the words “Low Cost”. After you enter the relevant personal information on our website, we will pass these to the low cost airline. The booking will be made directly between you and the low cost airline. After completing the booking you will receive two booking confirmations by email, one from the airline and one from ebookers. The reference received from the airline is required for check in.

It is your responsibility to ensure that all details of the booking are correct before proceeding. For any changes or cancellations, please contact the airline directly, quoting your reference.

Our booking fee for low cost flights will be debited from you at the time of booking. We shall dispatch a confirmation invoice to you which shall confirm your booking with the airline and the airline will debit payment from you for the fare and taxes. Most low cost airlines charge a payment handling fee of up to £5.00 per person or £5.99 per booking whichever is the higher. This will be notified to you in the airline's booking confirmation. This charge may be in another currency (e.g. CHF, Euro, SKK). Low cost airlines may also charge additional fees for checked baggage and for in-flight food and drink.

    AVOID E-BOOKERS

Watch out everyone, I just booked easyjet tickets through e-bookers as the price they were quoting was cheaper than on the easyjet website. Big mistake. Not only do they add an extra credit card fee onto your booking (which you are not informed about before you make the payment), they also forget to mention that you are going to get charged extra for baggage. So in actual fact, the total trip cost they quoted was complete rubbish.

I rang up immediately to cancel the booking. But the customer service person vwas ery unhelpful, not in the slightest bit apologetic, and I was told that it was no longer e-bookers responsibility and that I would have to now go directly to easyjet. So their existence is completely pointless. My advice, book with the airline direct and avoid e-bookers.
