Maybe try searching online, and then taking your findings to your travel agent, and some agents such as Thomas Cook and Thomson garantee to price match or beat even online deals which is good. My guess is that if your nearest airport is Gatwick, you should may look for flights from Heathrow as the fares are probably cheaper. You would have to get a flight to the nearest major city, San Francisco, and then a further flight from there to New York, so yes you are correct.

Hi my wife and I are looking to go to Yosomite and New York, but I cannot seem to find anyone who does this as a multi holiday. Looking for 4 nights in Yosomite and 2 nights in New York. So guess the flight would be Gatwick - San Francisco-New York- Gatwick. Has anyone done this holiday before or know of a travel agent who does? My local one could not help.
