Never forget Mexico... I would suggest Acapulco, it has beautiful beaches, and a great - but not crazy - nightilfe. There are plenty of activities to do during the day, loads of beach-side restaurants and bars. Best food in the world and the people are great as well.

I always fancied India, it would be really interesting. And the food must be amazing!!

I think we would like somewhere really relaxing and beachy so we get to enjoy each others company but also somewhere where there is the prospect of some activities too.....

We do want to avoid European destinations.

We have just come back from Thailand and loved it there, but we went to the more lively resort of Pattaya - too crazy for a honeymoon. We would consider Thailand again but it's just whether it's a good time of year to go there too! Ahhh! :)

As for the budget, we are working on a total of £2000 as a starting point but may be able to go higher depending on what we can save on the wedding.

I would forget either Mexico or anywhere else in the Caribbean region for a honeymoon, September is peak hurricane season, and whilst no one can predict what the weather will be like in Sept 2011, why take the risk. Sheltering under a hotel with 400 other guests for 48 hours is not my idea of an ideal honeymoon, It is the second half of the monsoon period in India as well which means high humidity as well as the prospect of a lot of rain!

I think it is time to rethink both destinations, is it just a beach you want or do you want to see something more, what sort of budget do you have to spend?

I am getting married on Sept 11th next year and we are currently thinking about the honeymoon as holidays are out soon. I need some independent advice. We spoke to a lovely lady at a wedding fayre that was selling amazing Mexico holidays and we really liked the hotel and everything but not sure about the time of year to go. We asked her and she said that it used to be bad in September but not anymore as you can no longer predict the seasons. I just don't know how honest she was being so can I have an opinion on that please?

Also can you please suggest some other long haul destinations that would be good to go to in September next year, we def don't want the Dominican Republic though!

Plus, (last thing honest :)) what is India like in September? My chap really wants to go there.
