    Re: kenya visa

    Hi ellie_1963,

Sounds like a great holiday in the offing - not long to go now!

The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) website has the best advice on visas. For Kenya, their website states "Children under the age of 16 who hold a British passport do not currently require a visa to enter Kenya but will receive a gratis stamp in their passport on arrival."

Asf or departure tax, it states that there is a deprture tax payable in Kenya of 20 dollars - which is also payable in Kenyan Shillings. Apparently, this is normally included in the cost of your airline tickets, but it would be well-worth checking with your airline or travel company (if it's a package).

You can find the latest travel advice on going to Kenya at the FCO website. Click here.

I hope that helps. Do let us know how it goes and how you get on - it would be great to hear all about it!

    Thanks,

    kenya visa

I am going to Kenya (Mombasa) next month on package holiday with my 12 year old daughter. Conflicting advice on various websites as to whether my daughter needs a visa. High Commision website says no but all other web sites say yes they do need one but it is free of charge? Have never travelled to anywhere requiring a visa so not sure of best way of obtaining. Going in 4 weeks so don't really want to risk losing passport in post. However, not having gone through the process before I'm worried about what could go wrong if I leave it till arriving at Mombassa?,.Also what is departure tax and do I need to pay this as well when holiday is over?

    Grateful for advice

    If I leave till
