    Suncar (trading as Decode) Car Hire

    Hi Matron and Magic 77,

    Thanks adding your experiences with Suncar to this site.

    There are more than 40 complaints about this company and obviously many more. So surely with enough people something can be done about this - they are still trading and you can still hire a car on their website.

    Please can you tell me what website you originally booked Suncar through - Travelsupermarket say that they do not advertised them on their website.

    Also has anyone been succesful in retrieving their money through their credit card company?

    Looking forward to hearing from you all.

    I like you have had the exact same experience , booked in May , travel 14th July to Alicante and still tryimhg to get our money back. I grow more frustrated by the day. I have today written to watchdog to highlight the issue with this company. I would urge you to do the same , Certainly some negative publicity wont do them any harm,

    Just log onto BBC watchdog through google search engine its esy to folow the process.

    travelsupermarket.com don't have a direct relationship with Suncar. I can only think that you have booked through one of the brokers that we list on the site.

    If you can remember which company it was who you clicked the 'go to site' button on I will be more than happy to follow this up for you.

    Suncar (also trading as Decode) Car Hire

    HELP - has anybody else had the same experience as me. I booked a car through Suncar on Travelsupermarket.com website on 12th May and the whole amount was taken out on 14th May. This was booked to be picked up at Alicante Airport on 19th July for my son and family. When he picked it up from Solmar they said that he had to pay the whole amount again - even though he had a voucher saying that it already had been paid in full!! I phone the company the next day and they admitted their mistake - they said they should have just taken a deposit. They said they couldn't credit my bank account but asked me to e-mail my bank details which they would pay within 28 days. I asked why and they said I was on a list to be paid - so there must be other people in my position. Now after 28 days their phone number is not being answered. In renting over 20 years and at least 5 through the internet I've never just paid a deposit. PLEASE PLEASE let me know if anybody else has been in the same position as me.
