    hello graeme

thanks for the reply, it's much appreciated. iam sure that many people are now (including myself) more happier about the changes to the travel insurance part of your site and reassured with your reply that you are different from other providers online.

i will in the next couple of days search for insurance thru moneysupermarket.com. as i usually do.

kind regards and thanks a million.

    Hi jim3h01,

I hope all is well. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. Many thanks for the feedback – as always, it's much appreciated.

I've spoken to the travel insurance team and they explain that they did a lot of research and testing before making changes to the new channel. One of the things that came through was that customers would like an email record of the quotes. You can choose to only receive the quote email if you wish, but talking to customers also showed that they would like to hear about other discounts, offers and deals that will help you save money or which you may find of interest. Of course, you don’t have to opt in to receive our marketing emails – you can deselect this if you wish. You will still receive the quote email, but no other emails. As always – in line with our Privacy Policy – you can opt out of receiving any of our emails at any time.

We take our customers’ privacy extremely seriously and treat your data with the utmost respect. Unlike some other comparison sites, we do not sell customer data on to any third parties. The practice of selling customer information on is of concern to many – which is why we don't do it. If you use our site, you can rest assured that the information you give will not be sold on and you will not be bombarded with phone calls or emails from companies you are not expecting to be contacted by.

If anyone is receiving unwanted emails, phone calls texts and they believe this is as a result of using our site, please contact our Customer Service team on 0845 345 5708 or customerservices@moneysupermarket.com. Or you can email me directly at graeme.delap@moneysupermarket.com and I'll be more than happy to investigate.

Thanks again for the feedback, jim. I hope that helps. I’ve made sure your comments have been heard by the team and they’ll take it forward for any other changes to the channel they’re looking at. Feel free to drop me a line if you have other concerns.

    Thanks,
    Graeme,

    travel insurance CHANGES @ travelsupermarket

    hello

today i was looking for travel insurance for a trip in january. previously i have always bought insurance from travelsupermarket.com (bought cover for my last 5 trips), the reason for this is that in the past i have searched for insurance and instantly a quote would appear from many companies ie.. bronze, silver and gold for example, it would then be upto me to check each cover for each, then i would decide from the most competative prices online, buy and minutes later a policy would appear in my inbox, great.

tonight i searched and after entering my details i would now get my quotes back via a marketing tool and get my quotes instantly. the problem i have with this is that i now have to enter personal details, by doing this i have to agree to your sites statement "i agree to let moneysupermarket.com and their carefully chosen partners contact me by email, phone or text" (i have to enter 1 option or more) along with money saving tips and offers.

sorry, i just feel after entering all my details i will be unindated with tons of quotes by email or get lots of phone calls or plenty of texts.

sadly i won't be in future buying travel insurance from your site in future. please, please go back to the way it was before.

    regards

    jim

ps i have to say that moneysupermarket.com for me, will always be the market leader for travel insurance, unfortunatly by getting your quotes this way just follows every other company on the net who wants to get extra revenue. please be different moneysupermarket.com and continue in the old way that saves your customers time and money by getting a quote instantly. i am sure many others go to your competitors site and are bamboozled by getting their quotes later and find their inbox filled with spam like quotes. sorry, as i have tried to get car insurance and guess what? 20 companies have got back to me, DOH........
