I recently flew in to Gerona (with Ryan Air) when visiting Lloret. I also went back as it was a destination I visited on holiday around 12 years ago when I was young and wanting a "Proper" holiday :-)

I'd recommend staying in Fennels Beach which is about a 5 minute bus ride away as it's much more peaceful and alot less comemrcialised and I was glad that I did as my age must be catching up with me!!

I didn't unfortunately use public transport from the airport but I'd agree with the last post that Gerona will be a better and cheaper option being closer.

If you want to go to Lloret, you are better off to fly to Gerona airport, it is much closer than Barcelona
