Beware - Ryanair Excess Baggage Charges at Faro Airport

I recently travelled from Faro to Stansted with Ryanair. At Faro Airport I was told that my case was 15kg overweight (Ryanair allow 15kg per person). There were actually 2 of us travelling but Ryanair wont split the weight between 2 passengers. Anyway to cut a long story short, the girl at check in informed me that I would have to pay excess baggage for the 15 kg (she neglected to tell me the amount). I was duly sent to the Ryanair desk to pay the bill (the Ryanair representatives are actually called Portway at Faro). At the Portway desk the helpful lady told me the cost was 225 Euros. I told her I wouldn´t pay and I would split some of the things into a different bag. Then the lady from Portway called her friend on the check-in desk, but unfortunately my case had already been checked in and couldn´t be retrieved.

Anyway be careful with baggage weight in a single case when travelling with Ryanair as this is obviously a way that they make a lot of money from unsuspecting victims like myself.
