British Airways to charge - the end of 'all inclusive' air prices?

    Hi all,

There's been a lot of talk in the papers, online and on TV in recent days and weeks about British Airways bringing in extra charges for reserving seats. This comes hot on the heels on reports of record losses of £400m, job losses, a pay-freeze for cabin crew, the decision to cut baggage allowances and an end to free meals on short haul flights.

How do you feel about this? Are you disappointed with BA for going down the budget airline route or do you think this is an economic reality and something they simply had to do in order to compete?

Is there a place for an airline with 'all-inclusive' prices or will travel in the future be based on the Ryanair and easyjet model of 'no-frills' where you buy additional luggage allowance, reserve seats and buy food onboard? Have we seen the end of 'headline' prices?

What do you think? We'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions...

    Thanks,
    Graeme,
