    Re: Carhire 3000

Any update on this since september?

I ask because I'm in a similar situation - booked an mpv for Italy in august ("Zafira or similar") to accomodate 6 people. On arrival was "upgraded" to a 5 seater estate car not suitable for the pupose I'd booked it for.

CarHire3000 are not interested - say I was given a more expensive car (though this seems to depend on when you look on their website), refuse to believe that an mpv can take more than 5 people (though Europcar had no problem providing a Zafira for the same location and period and purpose 2 years ago, and I drove one at home for a couple of years recently so are well aware of it's capabilities).

I've now written them a letter suggesting legal action will follow to get some recompense for the additional costs, inconvenience, reorganisation of plans etc caused by them not delivering to contract. As with you I'm now looking to the small claims court.

    Beware of this company!

I hired what was supposed to be a car ''the size of a Mondeo''.On arrival at Tampa airport I was offered a PT Cruiser and was forced to pay a large amount extra for a decent size family car

I have been complaining to them for the past month but seem to be getting nowhere.Their customer service is appalling

I think the Small Claims court will be my route of action.

    Re: Carhire 3000

we used carhire 3000 in sardinia in august last summer. they were awful. we spent a day in the airport trying to get our hire car and in the end we rang england on a mobile phone to check that it ha been booked. we had paid in advance and had all paperwork showing details of booking. they refused to give us the car. in the end we had to book another car and claim the money back when we got home. italien customer service is appaling, and the phrase i dont understand was repeted freqeutly. pay more money and go with hertz

    Re: Carhire 3000

I was redirected from www.crowncarhire.com to carhire3000.com when booking on 22 January 08. I logged in details to collect car at Malaga Airport on 8 March having paid in full. On arrival I was advised at Crown desk that they had no record of my booking despite my printed confirmation with booking reference number. There were at least 3 other people in the same situation at that particular time. Luckily I was able to approach another local company who were happy to provide me withasuitable vehicle. I am now trying to recover my payment. Not a good start to my holiday as none of the car hire companies recognised carhire3000.

Thank you for this, its always good to receive positive news! I did actually negotiate the deal on the phone having checked out the website and I agree with your advice that they do offer better deals by phone, with extra discounts at the weekend.

    Re: Carhire 3000

I have used carhire3000 on my last trip to the states in September last year; and I have to say that I was impressed with the service. When I got to the car hire desk (used one of the major rentals), there was no hard sell to add any extras, as the extras were part of the rental in the states. I also realized that if you ring them, they can offer a cheaper deal than what is advertised on the website; but that's only if you book in full.

I haven't of course tried renting from them in Europe, but I hope the experience is the same.

    Carhire 3000

Does anyone have any recent experience of using Carhire 3000? They are offering a really good deal for car hire in Italy in June, out of Rome CIA airport through Thrifty carhire and I am keen to know about other peoples experiences of their service.
