    Hi Deborah

    When I booked online from Argus, there was a 30 euro downpayment and it stated the remaining amount that would be payable at pick up from the car hire firm (which was a different company based abroad). When collecting the car, the firm explained that the 30 euro was a fee Argus charged as the agency arranging the car hire and was additional to the cost of the car, which was payable direct to the desk. Perhaps your 30 euro was the agency fee and that was additional to the actual car hire fee?

    the car was half full when we picked it up and we had to return it half full too.so it wasnt that.

    Was the car pre-filled with petrol? Sometimes you have to bring it back full or othertimes they charge you for the full tank and you have to bring it back empty (if you can gauge that). So maybr it was the full tank of fuel..

    we hired a car in july from argus car hire it said no hidden extras when picking up car were told we had to pay 30 euros they did not explain what this was for.just said we would have to pay or couldnt have car.does any one know what this was for.i have emailed no reply as yet.
