    Re: Bargainhunter. travelsupermarket.com response...

With all due respect, it was a tool that was quite unique and in my opinion what made you stand out from other online travel agencies. Whilst it was a small following 'percentage wise' Im sure it's quite a reasonable number overall. In addition to that I think that the benefits of such a tool was lost on the average punter... mainly though your own lack of promotion of the tool and people just not understanding such a one of a kind service. Every person I introduced to bargain hunter could not believe that this had slipped them by. I see your post was in June and I'm still waiting for this similar but more advanced version of bargain hunter. Are you just trying to ward off the tiny minority?

    Re: Bargainhunter. travelsupermarket.com response...

    Hi Dave DG (and all),

I'll make sure your comments and feedback reach Pete and the travelsupermarket.com team. As Pete mentioned, they are working hard to develop something which is similar, but more advanced, which many people will find useful. It's certainly a case of 'watch this space'.

As soon as I hear anything, rest assured, I'll let the community know.

    Thanks,

    Re: Bargainhunter. travelsupermarket.com response...

Please re consider bringing it back, I always look at the 'bargain hunter' first and usually plan my holiday around the flights, i had to book my ibiza holiday in July this year and ended up paying more for the flights than i could have,

    Re: Bargainhunter. travelsupermarket.com response...

    hello julesx and cyborg

you are spot on with your comments. "but I think one possible reason for this was that people did not even know it existed!!"

also the bargainhunter tool wasn't even given a prominent position on the site and because of this people could not find it (as you have mentioned julesx).

could you travelsupermarket.com do a trial for lets say 3mths. when someone visits your sites main page and decides to click on your menu bar at the top for flights, hotels, holidays etc. once they have clicked lets say flights, you have a "more flight options and guides" buttons just below the search flight box. could you not include a link there for bargainhunter with a picture to the left of something like £10 notes folded halfway into a piggy bank or £ notes in a glass jar?

i do use your search engine for medium - long haul flights but find i tend to use other flight search engines in my search for budget airlines and prices ie.. short hopps to europe and sometimes to desinations with a fight times of upto 3hrs. i expect many other people do this.

while iam here could travelsupermarket.com not include a multi-stop option in your flight search box. so many of your competitors and airlines have included this option.

    regards

    jim

    Re: Bargainhunter. travelsupermarket.com response...

Many thanks for your response to my comments regarding th Bargainhunter tool. I appreciate that you felt that the facility was under-used, but I think one possible reason for this was that people did not even know it existed!! I personally have recommended the Bargainhunter search to a number of people who had never heard about it... a number of which actually came back to me as they could not even locate the particular search on the website. Unfortunately, I have found that since Bargainhunter was removed, I have not even visited your website except to post my comments regarding its removal & as mentioned by another previous user, will have to look at finding an alternative as the current site doesn't offer what I require.

Re: Has the flight bargainhunter tool gone?

Thanks for supporting my commet Julesx. I hope that something is reinstated, or else I suppose I'll try and find something similar elsewhere. It would be even better for those of us who are totally flexible if there was no requirement to enter destination, so that the cheapest flights to anywhere at all came up. Perhaps too ambitious though...!?

    Bargainhunter. travelsupermarket.com response...

Thanks for your feedback on Bargainhunter.

We recently re-launched the travelsupermarket.com website to offer a more colorful, fun and inspirational site, which is cleaner and easier to use. Our new look and feel was developed with full consideration of available research and customer insight, via analytics and customer forums/user testing sessions. Bargainhunter was removed in light of the fact that of the 1million+ people that use our site each week, few (less than 0.5%) utilised the Bargainhunter tool. We do appreciate that to this small following, it was a useful area of the site and consequently we are working behind the scenes to develop a proposition which is similar but more advanced and appealing to a wider audience. In the meantime you can find live availability and pricing for flights here http://www.travelsupermarket.com/flights.aspx or alternatively check out our Special Offers page, which is updated 3 times a week http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/holidays/travel-special-offers

Re: Has the flight bargainhunter tool gone?

I too used the 'bargain hunter' for flights & thought it was fantastic! ...unfortunately, it does appear to have gone for some reason. I have sent a message through 'feedback' & am hoping that it will be reinstated very soon! Maybe if everyone does the same? ...worth a try?! :)

Has the flight bargainhunter tool gone?

I used to find the 'bargain hunter' 'for flights very useful. Since the site was 'improved' I can't seem to see it anywhere. You used to put in a month or months you were available/flexible, a destination, and it gave cheapest flights/dates. Am I being unobservant or has it gone???
