    hello williaca

was it global travel group you booked your package holiday? was it at a high street travel agent or online. as for using a solicitor i would personaly recommend using them. you should ask them of the charges up front. a better idea would be to ask them to take your details of your holiday and they could send a letter to the company asking for compensation and see what happens? all your doing is testing the water without going in waist deep and if thier response is favourable then go ahead, if not then you can cut your losses with maybe a smaller charge than expected from the law firm.

by doing this you can limit your costs with them. my one bit of advice is to make sure you prepare everything you need to include in the letter to substantiate your claim.

    Re: hell!!!! of a holiday

Hi jim thanks for, as wasnt sure whether a solicitor would be the best way forward or not.Yes the company is the one you mentioned (gloabl late deals/travel group-online). I hadnt actually realised that the holiday was payed on barclaycard and i wonder whether there is any cover from barclaycard, i wonder if you or anyone else would know the answer to this? i have photos, receipts, and everything possible and actual people on the same holiday who suffered threats also before going home regards to this hotel....I have been in touch with ABTA (on the off chance) and they responded with asking for all the correspondance sent to global travel and med hotels..as yet because of the ammount of paper work involved, also the headache of it all we havnt forwarded this yet. Global late deals have sent us a letter, however, stating that the problem is not their responsibility but Med Hotels are the company rsponcible...As yet we have heard nothing from Med Hotels... I will definately seek legal advice on this matter and thanks for your advice...its much appreciated

    thanks again

    Re: hell!!!! of a holiday

    hello again

i had a look at many of the review sites for the travel firm and there is a few bad reviews followed by some who have a 10 out of 10 experience with them (i suspect many posts are from the firm?).

ive did a search in google under holiday compensation and saw a few good pages that maybe could help.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=seeking+holiday+compensation&meta= there are a few firms who advertise no win no fee. but remember to check all the small print with regards to fees ie what is their percentage is.

going back to the solicitor route, i would go down that path. from my experience of working with a well respected and large law firm in scotland as an archivist only, i have saw at first hand what a good solicitor can do. unfortunatly i am not qualified to give advice but i would say you cant go far wrong if you did test the water briefly this way. as you have plenty of evidence to back your claim.

    regards
