    Re: Los Angeles Accommodation

I hope you realise that Universal Studios is not in Hollywood and public transport leaves a lot to be desired. When I first went to LA in 1983 I stayed downtown, big mistake, and decided that driving would be too difficult. I tried travelling everywhere by bus but when the man next to me pulled out a knife, to sharpen before use, I decided that a car was essential. LA is 50 miles across from Universal to Disney, it was a two hour journey by bus to Disney, it is your choice but I simply wouldn't go to LA without a car. Good luck

Thanks - we have looked at the Roosevelt in Holywood - we only have a few days, so won't need a car, but thanks for the tip - we'll certainly bear that in mind for another time.

There is a Sheraton on site but unless you have a particular need to stay close to Universal ,and you will only spend one day there anyway, I would not recommend that area to stay at all. There is nothing else within easy walk, so if you are planning a stay in and around LA, I would suggest it might be better to stay around the coast, Santa Monica for example and drive(you really do need a car in LA) to get to where you want to go

    Los Angeles Accommodation

Can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel near to Universal Studios which isn't going to cost an arm & a leg? Thanks
