    Re: maldives

    Hi sandybutt,

Welcome to the community forum. I've not been to the Maldives, unfortunately (it's definitely on my list of must-see, places to go, however!).

I spoke to one of my colleagues who went about a year ago. She tells me:

"I went in May, it is rainy season May to Oct, therefore cheaper but they don't guarantee the weather however, I read around it quite a lot and it means that that there is more rainfall however it comes in the form of intense thunder/rain storms that last less than half an hour and then there is hardly any rain then for the rest of the day. We had most of our our storms at night so only had one or two days where it rained. It is hotter in that period though but it is proper monsoon type weather, really humid!

I think they will find it cooler and the humidity less intense but they should have more sunshine and less rain. It never really gets below about 28 degrees there anyway to be honest!"
    (Thanks Nicki!)

I hope that helps - let us know who you get on. I'd love to hear all about it. Do any of our other members have any advice to share about the Maldives?

    Thanks,
