Hi Thanks for the reply, feel a little better about things now.It would be the Quesada office or La Marina office.I was concerned about it being clean and the deposit.

    Hi

yes everything was fine. Villa and pool were lovely and clean. I did contact the rental office once while we there to see if we could get extra fans but they never materialised although I didn't chase it up. Got the deposit back ok with no charges deducted although I did have to chase it up a few times -they said the person hadn't been in the office for a while. I imagine the service you get could depend on which office you deal with. Although I had little to do with the Campello office our villa holiday was really good.

    Hi

was this with the campello office? I'm getting v worried now. I have rarely been abroad and never arranged a holiday independently. We are only away for a week and have a 1 year old with us. Don't relish the thought of being faced with a dirty property on arrival and we are banking on using the pool a lot to keep cool. How did the office respond to your complaint?

    Re: OPI rentals, Spain

We rented a villa from OPI this year and while they haven't (as far as I am aware) kept any money back etc the villa was filthy-I had to clean it inside and out before we could use it (and I'm not joking). Even the outside chairs and table were filthy and broken-dangerous really. Also there was equipment that either wasn't there as detailed on the villa spec. or wasn't working AND we couldn't use the pool. We have holidayed independently on the Costas for many years and this was our worst experience. Sorry OPI but you need to smarten your act up.

    Re: OPI rentals, Spain

Hi, we had a long term rental from OPI which ended in March. We're still waiting for our deposit to be refunded!! The Moraira office has since went bust but we were promised a reimbursment from head office, that hasn't happened either. I would agree with all the above cleaning comments, our rental was filthy when we moved in, took me over a week to clean it and then they tried to charge us a cleaning fee when we moved out. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. We've even threatened them with legal action but it hasn't made any difference.

Based on my experience I would be extremely thorough and take some dated pictures of every room just before you leave.

I was quite clearly ripped off, my wife cleans like a demon almost to obsession yet still they deducted some money for alleged extra cleaning and laundry even though our villa was not properly cleaned when we arrived.

Maybe I just had a bad experience so please enjoy your holiday and perhaps ask for the villa owners name and address just in case becuase you sure won't get if you fall out with OPI.

    Re: OPI rentals, Spain

oh dear! I am renting a villa in Coveta Fuma through OPI in campello in a few weeks time. Have never rented a villa before so don't quite know what to expect. We have a baby with us and I'm wondering now what sort of post holiday 'cleaning' is reasonable given that I've already had to pay 200 euros on top of the rental for a cleaning charge. Was this office you dealt with?

    Re: OPI rentals, Spain

I have also had problems with this company and would never rent from them again. They kept part of my deposit because they said the property needed extra cleaning. I had already complained upon arrival that their cleaning was poor and wasn't up to scratch.

To make matters worse when I complained about their false cleaning charges I was met with allegations that were just blatent untruths, it was quite amazing. I will always pay when I have done something wrong but something was not right here and I got the impression that this was a regular way of bumping up rental income. Once they have your deposit they hold all the cards, so be careful.

On a final note they claim to be members of the PMLAS (property management and letting association of spain) but this is a body they themselves created. It is totally meaningless and I think rather misleading to create the impression that this gives holidaymakers some sort of guarantee or protection.

    Re: OPI rentals, Spain

Hi just come across your posting. Not sure which office you are referring to, however all damage deposits are held for a maximum 14 days and if any damage has occurred during your stay then the owner of the property is re-imbursed the cost of the damage as stated in our terms and conditions. We do take photos of pre.occupancy and again when the property is vacated to avoid problems such as this occurring. In almost 3 years of operating the La Marina office we have only had two incidents of damage touch wood.

    OPI rentals, Spain

Has any one has dealings with OPI rentals in Spain? I have rented one of their properties and now they are trying to claim for damage that didn't take place. Any advice or similar experiences, I would be interested to hear.
