    Re: Laterooms.com Horror!

Laterooms are by far and away the worst organization I have ever come across for accepting responsibilitiy for there mistakes. I urge people to use other hotel reservations sites so that we can get comapnies like laterooms to accept that their service must go further than simply pointing the finger at others.

I had used laterooms many times in the past and when it work its like any website, it when it goes wrong you can truly see the real value these businesses offer.

I booked a business trip for me and some of my colleagues to Frankfurt. As we were going on different flights and times I decided to use the customer service team to help do the booking. I had already found the hotel I just need to make sure I could get someone more skilled to log all the details in one go. All seemed fine until the nite before we fly when someone points out that the accommodation booked is not in Frankfurt but in Dresden, about 450K away from where I requested.

I highlighted the mistake, which laterooms conceeded was there mistkae (they listened to the original call) and proceeded to book me and my colleagues into the right hotel. However, 10pm the night before the hotel was booked and unavailable.

I didn't have internet connectivity so I requested the lady to review the hotel I had selected and book my team and I into a similar hotel.

To cut a long story short, the hotel name is called Rossijo Hotel in Frankfurt and it is the worst dorm I have ever seen. To get to the hotel you have to be buzzed through via a metal gate. The druggies standing outside look like something from a horror flick and the receptionist was to say the least extremely unhelpful. When we got there we requested we see the rooms before we check in. We had until six to cancel on the day and as it was five we thought we could look at the rooms and make a decsion. The receptionist said we need to check in and then we could see the rooms. Laterooms then inform me that by signing the check-in slip I have blown the calcellation agreement. We took one look at the radiator rusting in the toliet (caused by splahback of urine), the stains on the floor, the dirt everywhere and went back and complained. It was then the yound lady informed me that because we had 'checked-in' we had to pay for the first night.

It's at this point Laterooms show there true colours and have absolutley no interest in its customers. Laterooms accepted it was there mistake and accepted they don't vet the hotels but also accpet no responsibility. They was h there hands of the whole thing and to me that is wrong.

Above all the biggest issue I have is that this hotel, which was shocking (and I have stayed in some dodgy places) can continue to claim to be a 3 star and does not highlight that a family in this area of Frankfurt is at risk. The light district is fine and even quite colourful but this street and the people outside the hotel are looking for unsuspecting, innocent travellers and someone on their own or with a small kid could be at risk. Does Laterooms care now that they know? No they don't.

We need to stop this type of attitude and ensure organizations like laterooms take responsibility for the quality of establishment they partner with....

    Re: Laterooms.com Horror!

I booked a hotel thu Laterooms.com and posted a review as i had a bad experience. Laterooms refused the review after the hotel told them not to post it. I contacted laterooms and finally they posted it and then hotel wrote a respond back trying to cover them self as i have contacted Consumer Direct. I edited my review in respond to hotels comment and Laterooms refused to post it. i told them then i would like my orginal post back as it was approved my laterooms and they still refuse making up rules sayin they cannot as i am in a legal battle with the hotel. I asked to see their policy on this and they refused this. I asked for managers contact details, they just gave me the same email addy as i was in contact with them. They do not want the review to go up as they do get commission from the hotel which mean they will lose money if my review goes up. They tend to take the hotels side as thats where money is.

    Laterooms.com

As a hotel manager, i can also sympathise with you regarding laterooms.com as we're constantly having to put up with their ***-ups...

Recently we had a guest arrive just after midnight, saying she had a room booked at the hotel, we had no confirmation of her being booked here and the hotel was fully booked, so she called the booking agent and had an argument down the telephone saying she was appalled to be in the middle of nowhere in the early hours with no hotel room available.

We were waiting for another guest who hadn't arrived, i informed the lady if the guest hadn't arrived by 1am then i would re-let her the room... The guest didn't come, so all turned out well (or so we thought)..

Laterooms contacted us the following morning stating that they had a confirmation saying that the lady was booked with us, the reference number matched the guest that didn't arrives confirmation, but the booking agent had booked the room by fax in his name rather than the guests (hence the mis-understanding the previous evening).. He denied doing this even though i had the paperwork in my hand, and threatened to send no more guests our way unless we appologised to the customer...

    Marvelous eh???

    Re: Laterooms.com Horror!

This company is absolutely useless, I went in to the Ye Old Kings Head Hotel in Chester last week, to book a room for Saturday 23rd May 2008, the Hotel said you cant walk in and book a room, (how stupid is that?)you have to book it through Laterooms .com, I drove the 10 miles home went on the internet and it was showing 3 rooms available, I booked a room and supplied my credit card details, but never received a booking confirmation.

after 5 emails over the space of 5 days, I finally recieved a reply, that they have no records of my booking and now the hotel is full, I telephoned the given number to be spoken to by a foreign person who didnt have a clue, when I requested to speak to a manager, he said they were all busy.

I would suggest if you find a hotel that is arranging its booking through this company, you find another hotel.

I used Booking.com, and the room was sorted straight away

I now worry about the credit card details I gave them, is this some kind of scam?

Re: Request for late rooms-please tell the truth & back up your false stories

You have to remember that anyone can register any property on laterooms, all the terms and conditions say is that you state YOU have the permission of the hotel and YOU are responsible for all the listing specific, ie photos and services provided. so it all works well when a reputable hotel puts rooms on, ive used it, you get a ref and you can call the proper hotel direct using the phone no on the hotels actual website. all well and good. but if some unscrupulous so and so puts something on they shouldn't then laterooms dont check it out. for example i noticed recently they have apartments on in my own building!!!! as services apartments! they are in no way serviced and its totally against the lease for the owners to do this, especially giving out keys to the main entrance as we have alot of trouble with vandalism. its totally unfair on the other owners who dont want to put up with extra noise from people on holiday or the extra number of strangers in the building. there is of course no hotel website for these apartments as they don't exist elsewhere apart from laterooms. so in other words you could book it and find out the place doesn't exist or its in a terrible condition etc. i am sure after many complaints laterooms would remove it from the site but they do leave the initial investigation to whoever books first!!!! so what i would say is if you can't find that hotel on its own REAL website with the normal rates they are quoting then its a bit dodgy and stay clear. anyone who has booked to stay in our apartment block will soon find their booking cancelled as both the residents and landlord are FURIOIUS with whoever is doing this. of course laterooms protect the illegal behavour and dont hand over the apartment numbers.

give it a go, advertise your mothers shed on laterooms as 'luxury lodge in ground' you will have no problem, they are a glorified middle man who advertise 'hotels' or whatever with the only guarantee being from whoever advertises it themselves. stick with hotels u have heard of or can trace elsewhere on the web!
