RYAN AIR and the CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS VIA COMPARISON SITES

Please does anyone have an update? We have friends that have booked a holiday via an internet travel company; Their flight was classed as a .. (I think the term was..) 'No frills' flight or 'Lo cost' flight. They've since found out that it was Ryan Air and are really worried...

Surly, if the flights were paid for by the travel company, this can't be fair nor reasonable.. Plus, who'd ever use Ryan-Air if this happened?? It would certainly make more sense to honour the flights and show the customers what good service they get, thus encouraging them to use RYAN AIR in the futre?

Re: RYAN AIR and the CANCELLATION OF BOOKINGS VIA COMPARISON SITES

Ryanair claim to be cancelling 500 seats a day booked this way and their website does make it clear that it can only be used by individual customers, so they may be in their rights to do so. However, not a single customer has come forward to say they were refused travel so it may all be a bluff. It does appear they have targeted particular websites who they claim were making so many searches that their website was slowing down dramatically. Your friends should contact the company they booked through and seek re assurance regarding thier holiday. Ryanair say they are doing this in the public interest as other websites charge more than booking direct, and that is true, but the real reason is Ryanair make as much, if not more, money selling the accommodation, car hire and insurance which they can't do if the customer doesn't book direct with them!
