Re: southall travel advise please!
I bought my tickets for Karachi through Southall travel and I believed from the advertisement that if we found cheaper ticket with in 24 hours we can get our money or the difference of price back I called to book my tickets around 12:05 PM 11/02/08 spoke with Ms Kate she quoted me £490, I gave her my card details and she assured me that she will not take payment out of my credit card and the tickets wont be confirmed until I call her back and give her my passport details. (She sent me some emails as well about the price and the itinerary) I caller her back around 4:15PM and I gave her the passport details. Next day 12/02/08 I found a cheaper deal £410 p/person same flights, I called at around 4:00PM on the sales line at Southall travel spoke with Ms. Fareha, she said that she cant help me tickets has been issued very unhelpful, I asked her if I can speak to the manager, but she refused, said there is no one available, and she gave me customer care line number 0870 1200 012 I rang customer care line Ms. Pooja answered my phone, she gave me the same information that tickets has been issued and money was taken from my card at around 2:00PM yesterday, she advised me to speak to the concerned Manager Mr. George which was not available on that time I was so shocked that how can they take the payment from my card without my permission, I did not give permission to take payment out of my card until 4:15PM and when I called with in 24 hours of my booking no one seems to help me getting my money or the difference back. I sent email to customer services department explaining above, after two days Rohit called me from Southall travel he assured me that he will investigate, I sent him a emailed quote from other travel company he told me that he will get back to me on Thursday the 14/02/08, I waited the whole day for his call but he never called me, I called him twice left messages with other people but I didn’t get any call, the next day I called him he said he didn’t have time to contact me yesterday, he said he have contacted the company which offered me the cheaper rate and they have quoted him £465 for same flights, I told him that fares changes everyday and I sent you a proof as well, but he refused to accept that as a proof, he offered me a refund of £61.20 altogether for both tickets, I accepted that offer as I had no other choice (something is better then nothing) But still waiting for that refund it’s been three days, I want to cancel my card so that they can’t take any further payment from my card. I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO BOOK YOUR FLIGHT THROUGH SOUTHALL TRAVEL, EVEN IF THEY OFFER YOU CHEAP RATES.

Re: southall travel advise please!
I am currently trying to complete a group booking with Southall Travel. Their customer service is non existent. I have requested phone calls and sent countless e mails and never had a response. I have complained directly to the customer services manager several times and not received a reply. They promise to return phone calls and never do. Their organisation seems to be in utter chaos. I have no confidence in this company and would not recommend them to anybody.

Re: southall travel advise please!
If you have complained to the agent or operator in question and are not satisfied with their response, find out if the company is a member of a trade association, as these have arbitration procedures for customer complaints. The two main trade associations are the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) and the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA). The Air Transport Users Council (AUC) cannot help with a complaint against a tour operator or travel agent.

Re: southall travel advise please!
Do you think that i will get my money back? Agent from southall travel told me that they will not return the money. They havent issued the e-ticket and the reason they gave is that you have not made full payment. I have paid them intial deposit of £320 .I gave them another option to change the date of my ticket. They told me that for changing the date they will charge another £355.So i asked them to cancel the ticket which is just an invoice and they told me that they will not return the deposit.I dont even konw they have done the booking or not.I just have an invoice as an evidence .

Re: southall travel advise please!
i think they, contact your bank first of all and tell them to stop the transaction, and then contact southall travel on this email : emailATsouthalltravel.com and inform them with details that you have contacted your bank to stop the transaction. i am sure they will do something.

Re: southall travel advise please!
I think Ikhan is right, they should be reported to a trade association. I am trying to claim for a ticket which did not arrive for a group booking and had to purchase a new ticket at the airport as they would not issue an e ticket. They were clearly known by the handling staff of Air India (not in a positive way) Someone promised to phone me two weeks ago regarding an insurance claim for this lost ticket, not surprisingly they did not repond. I e mailed them on Monday asking for someone to call and they didn't. On face value their tickets do seem to be cheap and if everything goes to plan you probably get a very good deal. It is when things go wrong you run into problems with them. Good luck!!
