Travel insurance is very important for everyone.

This can be really helpful,when going to some travel tour to save from some unlawful conditions.

I have to say I think the insurers are right, if the baggage is under the control of an airline, it is they who are responsible. Did you report the damage on arrival back in the UK? If so, you should have a written report which you can send to the airline with details of your loss.

OUL Direct - I would strongly recommend that you did not use this travel insurer. I put in a claim when my baggage was broken into whilst checked in at an airport in Spain, they didn't pay out as they said the are not permitted to do so for a checked in piece of baggage. They also lost my claim forms for 2 weeks before they came to this conclusion. The customer service was a disgrace.
