    Re: TravelUp

I booked a couple of flights to Tokyo in April through Travelup just before the earthquake. I tried to cancel the flights by emailing and calling Travelup but they were highly unresponsive. I called the airline directly which confirmed they would offer a full refund via the agent but Travelup is trying to withhold almost 13% of the price I paid without explanation of the non-transparent charges. They do not reply to emails (despite a service standard claim) or phone calls and I'm trying to pursue a claim via my credit card now.

There is no customer service to speak of.

    Re: TravelUp

I don't know why Travelsupermarket publish their rates, or even Holiday Genie. I was looking around for flight tickets and thought I would purchase from them as it was the cheapest around. After reading the negative reviews, I stupidly decided to go ahead and purchase the tickets and after entering my information, I found there was an extra hidden charge and decided not to purchase. I was also not impressed that the price advertised through travelsupermarket was no longer available if I did not purchase insurance as informed by their agent on the phone. That is something I can live with. What ticked me off was that during dinner, I received a phone call from another agent demanding to know why I did not complete the purchase. She even called me twice! That is unacceptable! I did not provide my contact details to be harrassed. The whole point of buying online is to get a cheaper deal and not talk to anyone at all. Thanks to them I have learned my lesson and to depend on reviews online and stick with trusted agents even if I had to pay more. Stay clear of them at all cost!!!

    Hi Dags and fellows,

as you guys tried to find best deal for Australia i contacted to Travel Up and bought a tikcet from Them for Sydney but i

found them very efficient and perfect for the services and i had no problem at all. i believe some time we put our expectation too much from others and as they are acting and serving as just travel agent. if Airline charge us while we are travelling ,that is not their fault . The Reason i am saying this with confident that i tried so many companies to find better and cheap ticket but all companies was very very expensive , difference was coming of other companies with Travel up about 400 GBP which i believe no one lese can do. so i strongly recomend to every one to use Travel Up without any fear.

    Re: TravelUp

Hiya. I bought a return flight to New Zealand from Travelup last year, as like you, I found their price to be the cheapest I could find. I did not know when I was coming back so I wanted a ticket that I could change the date on. The reason for going with Travelup was that they assured me on more than one occasion (i repeatedly checked as this was very important to me) that my chosen airline allowed one free date change and after that it would be £75. Great - got to New Zealand through Travelup, tickets were issued promptly, no problems...until the time came for me to change my return date. The airline said they did not do free date changes and if I wanted to come home on a different date I would have to upgrade my seat. I of course tried to get in touch with Travelup, their response took a while in coming and was very short - denied ever saying anything about free dates changes and when I asked if they recorded phone calls I never heard from them again. So, cheaper they may have been to start with, but I ended up paying just over £200 extra to get home. I would not use Travelup again or recommend them.

    hello dags

just like yourself i checked for days and days for 1 ticket for myself and had a simlar experience to you, i found a long haul flight about £80 cheaper just by searching long and hard. but i found the cheaper flight at a well known site.

unfortunatly i hav'nt purchased a flight from travelup but did a search about them. they are members of travel trust association http://www.traveltrust.co.uk/ they have a statement on http://newmwz.traveltrust.co.uk/Default.aspx?tabid=103 also do a search in goole under travelup there are a few results.

hope this gives you somewhere to start.

    regards

    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a couple of plane tickets and, just before buying from one online company, I found TravelUp showing the same tickets for some £50 per person less. I know the other company and their price is good, but this is a really really good price. The only problem is that I've never heard of TravelUp and can't find much in the way of online reviews/customer satisfaction info. I'm a little reticent to hand over vast sums of money to a company I know nothing about, so I was just wondering if anyone here had any idea about them - have you, or anyone you know, had any dealings with TravelUp?

    Thanks,

    Dags
