    WARNING CAR HIRE MALAGE AIRPORT

I have wanted to write this for such a long time and iam that pissed off with the whole industry that i felt compelled to offer my advice to people looking to book car hire from malaga airport, firstly iam no beginner i have rented cars from various companies at malaga airport for the last 12 years , so iam a little bit experienced in the subject of car hire from malaga airport. so here goes when you get a quote  from them forget it, add at least 50 euros to your stated price, because all the car hire quotes you get you get from companies at malaga do not include damage to tyres , windscreens, underbody, clutch and engine, so basically when you get there you are obliged to take out this extra cover as you know that the state of spanish roads that there is a high percentage that you will damage your car due to one of these factors, the normal added charge for this is called super cover insurance by these companies  at the airport and usally charge 3 euros a day, so i ask u what the *** am i paying for when i hire A CAR THERE AND ALL THIS ISN,T COVERED..Another point to to take note off is all car hire companies at malaga airport ask u to pay for a full tank of fuel up front , KNOWING THAT YOU WILL NEVER USE A FULL TANK OF FUEL IF YOU ARE HIRING A CAR FOR SEVEN DAYS UNLESS YOU WISH TO DRIVE IT ALL THE WAY BACK TO THE UK. only companys i found exempt from this are aurigacrown hire who ask you to bring the car back full and you will will pay no extra, record renta car say they have no deal with fuel companies but still tried to charge me for fuel up front. So the summary to this posting is this, ,,,, beware when hiring a car from any company at malaga airport bare in mind you will have to pay more when you get there regardless of what they tell u before you arrive.

also take note that a family member rented a car from europcar at malaga airport only to be billed when he got home on his credit card that the spare tyre was punctured, something he knew nothing about and had never touched the spare tyre , again another scam from a car hire company worth remebering.

Re: WARNING CAR HIRE MALAGE AIRPORT

We have generally used www.allinclusivecarhire.com Yes you pay extra for tyres, windscreen cover. However, you must see how much they are charging for the car in the first place. This company is very reasonable. If you were at home and you had a puncture or broke a mirror on the door of your own car, it would be at your own expense. I do agree that if you are going for a week it is difficult to  use all the fuel and impossibe to bring it back empty.

We did use Record car hire last year. I paid the extra insurance cover to cover everything. We were unlucky the car was broken into and the rather basic radio was stolen.I reported to them, spent a day with the police to obtain a report etc etc.I was confident that I was covered for everything. At the Airport they asked me for 200 euros for the stolen radio. I explained I had taken out the super insurance cover. However, when I got my credit card bill they had charged me for it. I did manage to get the money back, 6 months and many phone calls to Spain. We did use them one more time and we were asked for a 200 Euro deposit for the radio. Told them to keep the radio! Make sure you take back the imprint. Kevin
