thank you for your quick reply to my post. What I am looking for in my holiday is actually a nice hotel quite next to the beach( 10 min walk at the most) and lots of restaurants and shops not in a great distance from the hotel.

So, my question is: the weather in Lanzarote at the end of Sep will be ok for sunbathing and swimming in the sea or is it going to be a bit chilly?

And secondly, about Sharm is it safe enough to go for a dinner or a drink to the surrounding area? I have also heard that many people faced some tummy problems because of the food and the quality of water. So. if i go to Sharm do i have to go for the inclusive option?

It depends on what you're looking for in a holiday.

Sharm has a number of attractions - we stayed at the Ritz Carlton which was very nice. There you have some great diving and can take a day trip to the pyramids in Cairo. A lot of hotels are outside of the "main strip" of Sharm but taxis are plentiful. The weather will be great.

Of the canary island resorts, my personal favourite is Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. Nice hotels and a nice promenade and marina with restaurant and bars - the ferry to Fuertenventura leaves from there so you can visit there. Also hire a car and visit the island - El Golfo is a great little village with great seafood restaurants.

Tunisia has great beaches and there are some good quality hotels - from memory not much outside of hotels but that may have changed over the last few years - Port El Kanthoui (spelling?) was very nice again with the marina and nice restaurants so would recommend staying in that area

Hi, I want to have a 7 holiday trip in late Sep and do not know which destination to choose among the Canary Islands, Sharm el sheikh and Tunisia since I've never been to them before. What I definitely want to have in my holidays is a nice hotel quite next to the beach just to relax but not remote one with the surrounding area to have shops, restaurants etc. Any suggestion? I have read so many reviews about the above destinations that made me confused. Cheers, Demi.
