Make your money to go further

For many it will be pay day this weekend, giving us the opportunity to get booking our main holiday for 2012. January is one of the key periods for the travel industry and we always see a boost to bookings at the end of the month, fuelled by salary cheques and tempting booking offers.
So why should you book now? We give you 5 reasons to book early and why it will save you money.

Get the holiday that you want.
Whilst many consider a holiday a holiday a necessity, it is still a substantial outlay from the household budget, so it pays to book early and get the holiday that you really want. Early bookers get a choice from the full range of offers, the dates, flights and accommodation that they want ensuring there is no compromise. Leaving it late leaves you picking from the scraps and not always at bargain prices. Our holiday price comparison service shows prices from all the leading names and many others you may not be familiar with showing you the best prices for your break.
Early booking offers
Many tour operators, online travel agents and airlines have early booking offers, many of which end or reduce in value around the beginning of February. These vary from straight money off such as the current up to £400 off with Thomas Cook through to online booking discounts, free child places and destination specific deals. These offers are not there later in the season. And with many companies creating packages up from flights and accommodation, you benefit from lower flight prices if you book now, bringing the overall cost down.
Low Deposits
Securing a holiday need not be expensive. There are deals on offer where you can secure your holiday now from only £50 per person and with the balance not due until two weeks before. easyJet Holidays are currently offering this amazing deal for July and August departures. So a family of four could secure their break from as little as £200. Many other companies are offering reduced deposits for a limited period.
Time to plan
Knowing you have a holiday booked gives you time to plan your resources, save up for your balance and spending money and put aside money for new holiday clothes. You can also start looking at the holiday extras you will need. Booking these early will also bag you extra discounts, giving you more to spend overseas on having fun.
Something to look forward to
Once you have booked, cut out or a print a picture of your hotel, villa or resort and pin it up at work and at home. You can even have a countdown to the big day and get your family and friends involved in the excitement and build up. It certainly gives you something to look forward to in the cold, dark winter months.
