Attention all dreaming of escaping grey skies and high rents. What if we told you that you could trade your current home for a sun-soaked, all-inclusive hotel in Turkey without breaking the bank?

With Turkey's new digital nomad visa scheme, professionals aged 21 to 55 who earn at least $3,000 USD (£2,392) a month or $36,000 USD (£28,711) a year can work remotely from the country for an extended period. Even better, you can do it for the same price as your current UK rent.

That’s right. We’ve made the game-changing discovery that you could actually save money by swapping your British abode for an all-inclusive hotel in Turkey, complete with free wi-fi and unlimited food and drink.

The new visa comes hot on the heels of a similar announcement by Italy, making Turkey the latest destination to welcome travelling professionals with open arms.

So, where are the savings?

According to our recent research, you could live and work from a three-star hotel in Turkey, like the Myra Hotel in Marmaris, complete with free wi-fi and unlimited food and drink, for less than the average UK rent.

For just £1,246* per month in October, when temperatures still reach highs of 26C, you could enjoy all the perks of a Mediterranean lifestyle while (hopefully) still being able to focus on your work.

It comes out as £27 cheaper than the average UK rent of £1,273, making it an amazing all-in-one option that includes the cost of your monthly food shop.

Of course, that’s if you can resist the temptation to dive into the brilliant restaurants that could be just steps away in Marmaris. The lively town creates the perfect blend of work and play, with its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and the ancient city of Ephesus nearby. Hotel-dwellers can spend their weekends exploring the rich history of the region or simply soaking up the sun on the sandy shores.

I’m from London – rent costs a lot more than that!

If you're a Londoner, you're probably all too familiar with the eye-watering average rent of £2,121 in the capital.

With the new visa, you could swap your cramped city flat for a luxurious five-star hotel in Turkey – meals and drinks included – for quite a bit less than the average rent.

The Daima Biz Hotel in Kemer, for instance, offers a sauna, a water park, and even meeting facilities for when you need to impress on your business Zoom calls. And the best part? It'll only cost you £2,058 per month**, meaning you could be living the high life for £63 less than what the average Londoner pays in rent.

In the evenings, you can explore the charming old town centre or, on the weekends, visit the nearby ancient Lycian city of Phaselis. And when Monday rolls around, impress your colleagues with a backdrop featuring the lush forests and stunning coastal views of Kemer – the perfect setting to showcase a new nomad lifestyle.
