From classical music to nightclub dance floors and from Gothic splendour to sparkling glass skyscrapers, there are plenty of reasons to book a seat on flights to Warsaw from Manchester Airport (MAN). The Polish capital is a jumble of styles and attitudes and it’s an ideal short-break destination from the UK.
Ryanair operates direct Manchester to Warsaw flights at low prices, with an average journey time of two hours and 25 minutes. You’ll touch down at Warsaw Modlin Airport (WMI), the city’s second airport (the main airport is Warsaw Chopin Airport; WAW).
It is possible to book indirect flights from Manchester to Warsaw Chopin Airport, though services take longer than four hours and usually cost much more than the direct flights with Ryanair.
Frequent and good-value bus services run from both airports to destinations in central Warsaw. Train services also run directly from Chopin Airport.
The ModlinBus express shuttle from Modlin Airport is a good option if you’ve booked a direct Ryanair flight. It pays to plan your transfer as soon as possible, as advance fares from 9 Polish zloty (a couple of pounds) can rise to as much as 30-40 zloty (up to £8) if you book at the last minute.
Taxi fares from Chopin Airport are in the region of 40 zloty (£8), while a trip from Modlin Airport is likely to cost upwards of 119 zloty (£23).
Book car hire in Warsaw if you plan to see more of Poland than the parks, restaurants, bars and museums of the capital.
