There are plenty of cheap Algarve flights available from the UK, which is just part of the allure of this hugely popular holiday destination.

If you’re in line for a holiday to the Algarve, Faro Airport (FAO) is the region’s main access point.

A modern airport building set around 7 kilometres (4 miles) west of the city, Faro Airport welcomes flights from all over Europe – and you can zip between Faro in the Algarve and dozens of British airports in under three hours.

London is a major departure point for low-cost Algarve flights to Faro Airport.

Budget airline easyJet – as well as Norwegian Air and British Airways – operate direct routes out of Gatwick.

British Airways also flies non-stop from Heathrow and London City to Faro, and you can pick up cheap flights to the Algarve from Stansted with Ryanair, British Airways and Eurowings, a German low-cost airline.

There are more low-cost options on offer from Luton and from Southend too with easyJet.

Faro Airport, Portugal

You won’t be stuck twiddling your thumbs on the plane for too long either, as it takes an average of two hours and fifty minutes to fly between London and Faro in the Algarve.
