Flights to Senegal take you directly to a land of wonder and intrigue. This nation boasts an incredible collection of sights and sounds and is certainly a place worth visiting if you have an interest in history, beautiful scenery and incredible cuisine.

The West African country of Senegal has developed into one of the continent's most popular tourist destinations...

The city of Dakar has a fascinating history, having been known as the French Capital of Western Africa since the beginning of the 20th century. This is a dizzying place, made up of stunning architecture, elegant restaurants, vibrant markets and bustling streets. However, for those who want some peace and quiet, tranquillity can be found in the historical Ile de Gorée, the IFAN Museum or the Maison des Esclaves. Architecture buffs will adore Saint Louis, a slightly more subdued version of Dakar.

For those visiting Senegal to shop for beautiful African fabrics, Marchés des HLM is the best place to go, with hundreds upon hundreds of colourful cloths to choose from, whilst those who are more interested in the famous cuisine of this country must not miss out on a visit to the fish market at Soumbedioune.

Senegal is not short on spectacular scenery; from the pink tinted mineral waters of Lac Rose, to the stunning seaside views of Cap Skirring (La Palmeraie can also be found here), to the tropical gardens of Ferme de Djibelor (the perfect spot for bird watching), there's almost no end to the natural attractions in this part of the world.
