Ayia Napa is the undisputed party capital of Cyprus. The scene in Ayia Napa has calmed down a bit in recent years, but there’s still no better place to experience Cyprus nightlife. From casual beach bars to high-energy foam parties, Ayia Napa offers the widest range of after-dark entertainment.
To experience Ayia Napa nightlife full on, head to Castle (Grigori Afxentiou), an enormous club with three separate music rooms and 14 – yes 14 – bars. For more low-key nights out in Cyprus, check out Nissaki Bar (Vathia Gonia Rd), a relaxed lounge with sofas and day-beds set on the beach.
Limassol is the closest Ayia Napa has to competition for the title of party capital of Cyprus. The city’s crowd-pleasing range of bars, clubs, and cafes make it one of the top destinations in Cyprus for nightlife. For sophisticated nights out, check out Fine Wine Bar (86 Spyrou Kyprianou, Germasogeia).
As its name suggests, this bar is all about wine, with wine cellar-inspired decor and a menu of excellent labels from around the world. For dancing, head to Guaba Beach Bar (Amathountos), where DJs spin everything from electro to reggae, depending on the night.
Most of the bars and clubs in Paphos are located on the aptly named ‘Bar Street’, one of the best places in Cyprus for bar-hopping. Flairs Cocktail Bar (Ayiou Antoniou) and nearby Hollywood Cocktail Bar (Ayiou Antoniou) both draw a young crowd with their cheap cocktails and live DJs.
Elsewhere, the relaxed Lighthouse Beach Bar (Eleutheriou Chandrinou) is a great place for family-friendly entertainment in Cyprus.
In Larnaca, nightlife is focused on the pedestrianised beachfront promenade, which is lined with bars, cafes and clubs.
Travellers looking for a high-energy night out should head to XS Night and Day Club (Mackenzie) or Club DEEP (Leoforos Athinon Finikoudes), a two-floor club that plays a mix of progressive house, old school and mainstream tracks.
If you’re hankering for a good beer in Cyprus, meanwhile, don’t miss Brewery (Athenon), which offers a superb selection of lagers, ales and fruity beers that you pull from pumps brought right to your table.
