Palma Nova is on the south-west coast of Majorca and therefore enjoys a typical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and cool winters.

While not a year-round sunshine destination, visitors will relish long hours of heat and sunshine between April and October. At the height of summer you can expect daytime average temperatures to reach 30C, with spring and autumn visitors enjoying pleasant averages of 24C.

Though Palma Nova will mostly be closed down for the winter period, you may even prefer to see the city of Palma when it's at its quietest and the temperatures drop to an average 10C in the day. There is a greater chance of rainfall at this time of year, though.

Angel Sunday; May: Travel to nearby Palma in May to see the parades, taste the food and witness the “giants” as they make their way to the stunning Bellver Castle.

Nit de Foc (Night of Fire); June: You can probably guess form the name that you're in for a bonfire and fireworks display at this Palma event, but the fire wielding “demons” might come as a surprise. Find a place by the lake before sunset for the best view.

Releasing of the ducks; August: Hire a car and travel to C'an Picafort on the north coast to swimmers try to catch the rubber ducks set free on the waves. It's a bizarre spectacle that will delight your little ones.
