Why go to Orlando

For family fun and good times in the sun, it doesn't get much bigger or better than holidays in Orlando.

Its popularity - some 60 million people are said to visit its theme parks annually - means you'll have plenty of options when it comes to organising your Orlando holiday in 2020.

There are all-inclusive Orlando deals to be had, with flights, accommodation and theme-park access included, or luxury package holidays in Orlando with even more bells and whistles. Cheap holidays are also easy to come by, with breakfast- and room-only holiday deals widely available.

The theme park capital of the world Orlando is touted as the 'Theme Park Capital of the World' - a nickname it well and truly deserves.

Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, home to the Magic Kingdom (aka ‘The Happiest Place on Earth'), remains one of its biggest draws. It is far from the only one, with numerous others, including Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando.

Access to the larger resorts, such as Disney and Universal, is sometimes included as part of an all-inclusive holiday package. Each carries a wide number of hotels, with room rates ranging from wallet-friendly to eye-watering

If you're after a cheap holiday in Orlando, you'll be happy to hear that it's possible to find a good deal at the key resorts too.

Mickey and pals To many, holidays in Orlando are all about the theme parks, but Mickey and the thrill rides are only just the beginning. There are fantastic restaurants, all kinds of entertainment and nightlife to sample, and some amazing shopping opportunities, from megamalls to discount outlet stores.

Then, of course, there is all the stuff that was here before the theme parks moved in, including well-regarded museums, such as the Cornell Fine Arts Museum and the Museum of Military History in nearby Kissimmee.

Orlando is also the perfect base for exploring the rest of Florida, from its expansive nature parks to the croc-stocked Everglades.

*ATOL (Air Travel Organiser's Licence) is a financial protection scheme for package holidays: It provides support to consumers in the event their holiday provider collapses. Booking with an ATOL holder ensures that you won't be left out of pocket and you won't be left stranded abroad. All package holidays compared using TravelSupermarket are protected by ATOL.

ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents) offers similar cover for packages booked with its members. However, while ATOL predominantly covers flight-based packages, ABTA covers non-flight based holidays (such as rail and cruise) and linked travel arrangements. If you are unsure whether or not your trip is covered by ABTA, check with your provider.
