There’s no doubt that the islands of the Seychelles offer some of the best luxury accommodation in the world, with a night at some private-island retreats running into thousands of pounds.

More recently, though, the Seychelles hotel scene has been diversifying to include more affordable chains and a good range of boutique B&B hotels, private guesthouses and self-catering accommodation.

In other words, there’s a hotel to match your budget in the beautiful Seychelles.

The majority of Seychelles hotels are situated on the three main islands of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

While Mahé and Praslin are both large and covered in thick tropical forest, tiny La Digue is low lying and ringed entirely by powdery white sands, giving it a more laidback beach vibe.

The main hub of tourism in the Seychelles is the gloriously long Beau Vallon Beach on the northern coast of Mahe, although by international standards the scene is low key and unspoiled.

Across the islands, there’s no shortage of four and five-star hotels. Reliable international brands, such as the Four Seasons, Raffles, Banyan Tree, Six Senses and Hilton, operate hotels in the Seychelles. At this level, you can expect excellent service, private villa pools, butlers and fabulously lavish spas in gorgeous settings.

The Seychelles is also a fantastic family destination; most hotels cater well to kids, offering clubs, activities and babysitting services. However, if you are travelling with children, make enquires about safety at your nearest beach as seasonal winds make some beaches too rough for swimming.
