- In Copenhagen, people are encouraged to bike, walk or use public transport instead of driving and priority on roads is always given to pedestrians. So, watch out for people crossing on foot, especially at traffic lights.
- Drink driving laws are strict in Denmark. The legal limit is on par with the rest of Europe: 0.5 grams of alcohol per litre of blood. However, it’s worth remembering, if you cause an accident on Danish soil and fail a breath test, you will almost certainly spend some time in jail.
- Denmark uses pupilometers. If you’ve never seen a pupilometer, it’s best to keep it that way. Designed as a drug test for drivers, these devices are carried by all Danish traffic police and used as frequently as breathalysers with the same harsh penalties for failure.
